The much-fabled and notorious Boycie the Bus has long been an attraction in its own right. Peering through the beech trees and standing proudly at The Dell, Boycie has found a happy new lease of life. Once the playground of many a child staying at Cedar Valley, and with echoes of his earlier days dropping children at school in the Hampshire countryside, Boycie now sits firmly at the heart of The Dell.

Lovingly converted some years ago, the old school bus has become a familiar and much-loved stop for walkers, campers and visitors alike. Boycie greets early risers and afternoon wanderers with the comforting promise of great coffee, something delicious to eat and, of course, the chance for any budding young bus drivers to climb into the top seat.

Inside you’ll find excellent coffee from Winchester Coffee Roasters, a range of teas and soft drinks, and a tempting selection of cakes and pastries with options to suit a variety of dietary requirements. Alongside the sweet treats are plenty of savoury favourites too, including our popular sausage rolls in a range of flavours and delicious cheese and bacon turnovers – all the comforting café staples you might hope for when pausing to enjoy the views.

Come and grab your morning coffee and enjoy it in some of Hampshire’s most idyllic surroundings.

TIPI - Our Pizza Restaurant

Our Nordic tipi – shaped like a pointed hat – and artisan wood-fired pizza oven sit at the heart of our food offering at The Dell.

From here we serve delicious Neapolitan-style pizzas, made with carefully selected ingredients chosen for their quality and flavour. Our menu changes regularly, featuring pizzas topped with seasonal vegetables, and thoughtfully sourced meats and charcuterie.

With the glow of the wood-fired oven and the atmosphere of the tipi, The Dell offers a dining experience like no other. Throughout the year the space provides a wonderful setting for gatherings and celebrations, and as the seasons turn it becomes an especially cosy spot for autumn and winter events, including Christmas parties. THE BEECH BAR – Our Bar

Crafted from reclaimed pallets and scaffold boards, The Beech Bar stands proudly within our tipi, ready to welcome guests with a well-earned tipple. Reuse and sustainability are central to life at The Dell, and this spirit runs through much of what we do – from repurposed materials to compostable cups and packaging, and a careful approach to minimising waste across our offerings.

With tables and barrels adding to its relaxed, shabby-chic charm, the bar is well stocked with chilled drinks and a freshly poured Peroni on tap. Behind the bar you’ll also find a range of fine ales from our local friends at Bowman’s and The Flower Pots breweries, with favourites such as Swift One and Pots Bitter regularly making an appearance.

Alongside the beers we offer a full range of spirits, soft drinks and the occasional cocktail, so there’s plenty to enjoy as you relax beneath the canvas of our atmospheric tipi or out in the sunshine beyond – in what we like to think might just be the biggest beer gardens in Hampshire.

THE PULLED PORK £16.00 – San Marzano tomato on a sourdough base with mozzarella, pulled pork, caramelised onions with a garlic aioli drizzle.

THE FLORENCE £15.50 – Sourdough base with Prosciutto Cotto, Mozzarella, shaved Parmesan, rocket, cherry tomatoes and pesto drizzle (no tomato sauce).
