Booking Policy

Welcome to The Dell – our outdoor, family-friendly pizza restaurant, bar and café set in the beautiful Meon Valley. Serving wood-fired sourdough pizzas alongside Hampshire’s celebrated beers and ciders, The Dell is a relaxed place to gather with friends and family while children enjoy the open surroundings.

This Booking Policy outlines the terms and conditions for pizza orders, group bookings, private gatherings and venue hire at The Dell.

1. Pizza orders and General Visits

We recommend pre-ordering pizzas via our website in advance of your visit to avoid disappointment.

Food can also be ordered when you arrive at The Dell by scanning the QR codes on our tables or posters, but availability cannot be guaranteed.

Tables at The Dell generally operate on a first come, first served basis, although tables may be reserved for gatherings (see below).

2. Table Reservations for Gatherings

For smaller gatherings, children’s parties or group visits, we are able to reserve tables under our sailcloth tent.

  • £25 per reserved table (non-refundable)

  • Each table seats up to six guests

  • Pizza pre-orders are required in advance

This allows your group to have a dedicated space while still enjoying the relaxed atmosphere of The Dell.

3. Private Events & Exclusive Hire

We occasionally offer private hire options, including exclusive use of our sailcloth tent for larger celebrations.

This can be suitable for events such as birthdays, anniversaries, work gatherings and other special occasions.

Private event bookings must:

  • Be confirmed in writing

  • Include a reservation fee or deposit to secure the date

  • Agree catering arrangements in advance

Full event details and pricing will be provided upon enquiry.

4. Cancellation Policy

Table reservations

Table reservation fees (£25 per table) are non-refundable, as they secure space for your group.

Pizza Orders

If you realise that you have ordered pizzas for the wrong date, please email info@thedellhampshire.co.uk to request a refund. You will then need to place a new order for the correct date.

If pizzas are prepared but not collected, we are unfortunately unable to issue a refund.

Please note that emails are not monitored during service hours.

Private Events

Cancellation terms for larger private events will be confirmed at the time of booking.

5. Weather & Unforeseen Circumstances

The Dell is an outdoor venue, and while we provide shelter with our tipi and covered areas, we cannot guarantee favourable weather.

We do not cancel bookings due to poor weather unless conditions present a safety risk or make the venue unusable (for example extreme storms or wind speeds exceeding 50 mph).

In the rare event that we must close for safety or unforeseen circumstances, guests will be notified by email and offered either an alternative date or a full refund.

6. Children & Families

The Dell is a family-friendly venue, with a sandpit, mud kitchen, outdoor games and open space for children to play.

Children must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times.

For safety or operational reasons, we may occasionally limit access to certain play areas.

7. Food & Drink

All food and drink consumed at The Dell must be purchased from the venue, unless otherwise agreed in advance for private events.

Birthday cakes are welcome for celebrations, but all other food and drinks must be supplied by The Dell.

8. Accessibility

Due to the natural setting of The Dell, the ground is uneven and not suitable for wheelchair access, and we do not currently have accessible toilet facilities.

If you have specific access requirements, please contact us in advance and we will do our best to assist where possible.
